The Gel type Deka Battery Aplication for your RV,Motorhome,Boat, house solar system.
What are the differences between gel
batteries and absorbed glass mat
Both are recombinant batteries. Both are sealed valve-regulated
(SVR) – also called valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA). AGM batteries
and gel batteries are both considered “acid-starved”. In a gel
battery, the electrolyte does not flow like a normal liquid.
The electrolyte has the consistency and appearance of petroleum
jelly. Like gelled electrolyte batteries, absorbed electrolyte batteries
are also considered non-spillable – all of the liquid electrolyte is
trapped in the sponge-like matted glass fiber separator material.
The “acid-starved” condition of gel and AGM batteries protects
the plates during heavy deep-discharges. The gel battery is more
starved, giving more protection to the plate; therefore, it is better
suited for super-deep discharge applications.
Due to the physical properties of the gelled electrolyte, gel battery
power declines faster than an AGM battery’s as the temperature
drops below 32ºF. AGM batteries excel for high current, high power
applications and in extremely cold environments.
FEATURES Completely maintenance free. Sealed construction eliminates periodic watering, corrosive acid fumes and spills.Electrolyte will not stratify, no equalization charging required. Allows faster recharge.Increases durability and deep cycle ability for heavy demand applications.Less than 2% per month stand loss means little deterioration during transport and storage.Tank formation ensures voltage matching between cells.Transports easily and safely by air. No special containers needed.Ensures reliable service, support and quality MADE IN THE USA

HOW DOES A GEL CELL WORK?A gel cell is a "recombinant" battery. This means that the oxygen that is normally produced on the positive plate in all lead-acid battery recombines with the hydrogen given off by the negative plate. The "recombination" of hydrogen and oxygen produces water (H2O), which replaces the moisture in the battery. Therefore, the battery is maintenance-free, as it never needs watering. The oxygen is trapped in the cell by special pressurized sealing vents. It travels to the negative plate through tiny fissures or cracks in the gelled electrolyte. The sealing vent is critical to the performance of the gel cell. The cell must maintain a positive internal pressure. Otherwise the recombination of the gasses will not take place, and the cell will dry out and not perform. In addition, the valve must safely release any excess pressure that may be produced during overcharging. Otherwise, the cell would be irreparably damaged. It's important to note that gel cell must never be opened. If opened, the cell loses its pressure, and the outside air will "poison" the plates and cause an imbalance that destroys the recombination chemistry.

High Discharge Rate
8D BCI Group Size Gel Battery
Gel Cell design may offer greater reliability in extreme temperature applications
Leak Proof/Spill Proof
High quality battery/better uniformity
Popular Applications: RV, Marine, Solar, Communications, Lifts, Etc.
Deka Gel Cell Batteries REQUIERS special battery charging profile as do all Gel Cell Batteries. If uncertain if the battery charger you currently using will properly charge a Gel Cell battery please consult BatteryStuff.com before using the charger. Typically RV and Marine charging systems will require modification when using Gel Cell Batteries. Note: It is very common the AGM battery is mistaken as a Gel Cell as their outward appearance, characteristics and specifications are similar.
